LAKE MEAD
Lake Mead is the largest man-made lake and reservoir in the United States. It is located on the Colorado River about 30 miles southeast of Las Vegas, Nevada, between the states of Nevada and Arizona. Formed by water impounded by
Hoover
Dam, it extends 110 miles behind the dam, holding approximately 28.5 million acre feet of water.
Hiking around Lake Mead is both easy and interesting.
You find hot springs and narrows. What Lake Mead
lacks in peaks it makes up with incredible formations and natural wonders. Being around ten degrees warmer than Las Vegas, it's the perfect place for you to hike during the winter.

OF FIRE Dedicated in 1935, Valley Of Fire is Nevada's oldest State Park. It is located only 50 miles Northeast
of Las Vegas.
The rough floor and jagged walls of the park contain brilliant formations of eroded
sandstone and sand dunes more than 150 million years old. These features, which are
the centerpiece of the park's attractions, often appear to be on fire when reflecting the sun's rays.
